This is my 1991 Toyota it is basically stock other than a three core radiator, a automatic transmission cooler, and helper springs for the rear. I bought it on somewhat of a whim when my 1984 Nissan 4X4's 5 speed transmission exploded on a desolate strip of I40 in Oklahoma. Other than new brakes and the timing chain it's provided good service even with the abuse I have given it.

These two picture are when the timing chain jumped and bent the values, if you look closely at the piston you can see where
the valve hit cylinder. This was on tuff job, it took me about 4 day in the dead of summer. I replaced all the belts, water pump
fan clutch, and a new three core radiator as my wife at the time was using it for here mail route which has about 650 stops per day. I finally convinced here to get a mail Jeep which has worked out much better.

A word of caution if you own a Toyota Truck with the 22RE engine, REPLACE THE TIMING CHAIN GUIDES AT
100,000 mile. This will save you allot of trouble. I heard something funny at the front of engine and knew what it was, but from others experience I thought it would last longer. LC Engineering makes an upgrade kit which should last several hundred thousand miles.
