As we consider our efforts for the cause of Christ this year there are many things to draw our attention.
Many of the things that we will do that will bring benefits to our lives,
families and church. But I want to challenge you to make an investment
that will benefit all of these and more for eternity. I
invite you to join me in making God's Word a daily priority in life. Read through the Bible with me this year! The
psalmist said; How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than
honey to my mouth! Psalm 119:103 The
entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the
simple. Psalm 119:130 Jesus
Himself spake; But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not
live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of
God. Matthew 4:4. The
passages listed in this reading guide are not in the order in which they
occur in the Bible but are a chronological arrangement. The poetic
and prophetic books are inserted into the historical books about the point
they were thought to have been penned. Similarly, the New Testament
letters are listed within the approximate 32 years covered in the book of
Acts. We are not sure of the exact dates of all, but these are
close. I urge
you to choose a reading partner and meet weekly to discuss what God is
saying to you through your readings. This will enhance your journey
through the Scriptures greatly.
