The Fischer Hotel, still standing at the corner of Lake and Scarborough Streets, was built in 1905 by Mr. A. S. Fischer. Later owned by Mr. Simon Marcus, the building was bought from him by Dr. F. M. Terral. The ground floor is at present used as a suite of doctor's offices, a bus station and a clothing store. Once there were 30 room in use, with a dining room, coffee shop, kitchen and lobby downstaris. The third floor was removed in recent years.(The building burned down around 1980) |
