East Carroll Parish, Louisiana

"A Place to Remember"

(1) I have some genealogy research material on East Carroll Parish, Louisiana. Included in the history are some of the earliest settlers, churches, organizations, and businesses, along with the towns' city officials. Also, I have some information on the education, communication, and transportation systems that was in the once beautiful town of Lake Providence. Among the local stories of family biographies are the parish's plantations, Civil War, and Post-War history.

(2) Here is a poem about Lake Providence that was written by Mrs. Harry VanFossen.

(3) Other pictures and history of my home town....Lake Providence, East Carroll Parish, Louisiana.

(4) Here are some abstracts from newspapers about death and marriage notices concerning people of Carroll Parish, Louisiana. From the Le Raconteur Magazine:
July 21, 1866 - Aug. 2, 1873
