4 until's

When is Jesus coming back? No one knows for sure; but one thing is certain, He can't come until some very specific things happen. I'll share four of them with you. ( Note: these are just scripture reference's each one of these is a study unto themselves ).

#1

Acts 3:19-21

" Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began" ( KJV).

" Until the times of restoration of all things" (NKJV).

" whom heaven indeed must receive till the times of the restoring of all things, of which God has spoken by the mouth of his holy prophets since time began" (J. N. Darby).

" For He (Jesus) must remain in heaven until the final recovery of all things from sin" (Living Bible).

" Heaven must receive Him until that universal restoration" (Phillips Modern English).

" Until the time for establishing all" (Revised Standard Version).

" Until the time comes for all things to be made new " (Today's English Version).

"Until the time comes for God to restore everything" (New International Version).

" Till the universal restoration comes" (Jerusalem Bible).

" Until the time of universal restoration" (New English Bible).

" Until the time for the complete restoration" (Amplified Bible).

" Till times of a restitution of all things" (Young's Literal Translation).

" Until times when all things will be restored to their pristine glory" (Wuest Expandad Translation).

" But Jesus must stay in heaven until the time comes when all things will be made right again." (New Century Version).

" Until the times of restoration of all" (Corcondant Literal).

" Until the times of due establishment of all things" (Rotherham's Emphsized Bible).

Jesus must stay in heaven till the time comes for all things to be made new.

#2

In Ephesians 4:11-16

The five fold ministry is given:

" Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ" (Eph. 4:13, KJV).

" until we all arrive at the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, at the full-grown man, at the measure of the stature of the fullness of the Christ" (DBY).

" till we may all come to the unity of the faith and of the recognition of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to a measure of stature of the fullness of the Christ" (YLT).

" Till we all come to the unity of the faith, and the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ" (NKJV).

" until finally we all believe alike about our salvation and about our Savior, God's Son, and all become full-grown in the Lord--yes, to the point of being filled full with Christ" (LB).

" until the time comes when, in the unity of common faith and common knowledge of the Son of God, we arrive at real maturity-- that measure of development which is meant by 'the fullness of Christ' " (Phillips).

" until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ" (RSV).

" until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining the full measure of perfection found in Christ" (NIV).

" And so we shall all come together to that oneness in our faith and in our knowledge of the Son of God; we shall become mature men, reaching to the very height of Christ's full stature" (TEV).

" in this way we are all to come to unity in our faith and in our knowledge of the Son of God, until we become the perfect man, fully mature with the fullness of Christ Himself" (JB).

" So shall we all at last attain to the unity inherent in our faith and our knowledge of the Son of God- to a mature manhood, measured by nothing less than the full stature of Christ" (NEB).

" This work must continue until we all are joined together in the same faith and in the same knowledge about the Son of God. We must become like a mature person- we must grow until we become like Christ and have all His perfection" (NCV).

" [That it might develop] until we all attain oneness in the faith and in the comprehension of the [full and accurate] knowledge of the Son of God, that [we might arrive] at really mature manhood (the completeness of personality which is nothing less than the standard height of Christ's own perfection), the measure of the stature of the Christ and the completeness found in Him" (AMP.).

" until we all attain to the unity of the Faith and of the experiential, full, and precise knowledge of the Son of God, to a spiritually man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ" (Wuest).

" unto the end that we should all attain to the unity of the faith and the realization of the son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature of the complement of the Christ" (CL).

" Until we all advance-- Into the oneness of the faith and the personal knowledge of the Son of God, Into a man of full growth, Into the measure of the stature of the fullness of the Christ" (Rotherham's).

Jesus must stay in heaven until the body of Christ grows up into unity of faith in Christ, and into full maturity, the absolute fullness of the Christ, perfect in Him.

#3

Hebrews 10:12-13

"But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool" (KJV).

"from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool" (NKJV).

"waiting from henceforth until his enemies be set for the footstool of his feet" (DBY).

"as to the rest, expecting till He may place his enemies as his footstool" (YLT).

"waiting for His enemies to be laid under His feet" (LB).

" but waiting until 'his enemies be made his footstool' " (Phillips).

"then to wait until his enemies should be made a stool for his feet" (RSV).

"There he now waits until God puts his enemies as a footstool under his feet" (TEV).

"Since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool" (NIV).

"where he is now waiting until his enemies are made into a footstool for him" (JB).

"where he waits henceforth until his enemies are made his footstool" (NEB).

"And now Christ waits there for his enemies to be put under his power" (NCV).

"Then to wait until His enemies should be made a stool beneath His feet" (AMP.).

"waiting furthermore till His enemies may be placed as a footstool for His feet" (CL).

"As for the rest waiting- Until his foes be made his footstool" (Rotherham's).

Jesus is waiting at the right hand of God until all His enemies are under His feet.

#4

James 5:7

"Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain" (KJV).

"Be patient, then, brethren, till the presence of the Lord; lo, the husbandman doth expect the precious fruit of the earth, being patient for it, till he may receive rain--early and latter" (YLT).

"Be patient therefore brethren until the presence of the Lord:- Lo! the husbandman awaiteth the precious fruit of the earth, Having patience for it until it receive the early and latter rain" (Rotherham's).

Jesus will remain in heaven till the fullness of the Spirit is poured out on the church. ( All the other renderings of this verse say basically the same thing ).

These scriptures must be fulfilled before Jesus can come back. The church has got to grow up into the fullness of Christ; a victorious overcoming glorious body of Christ.
