FEBRUARY FEBRUARY "BLOCK OF THE MONTH" Beginning in February, start a new Block of the Month from McKenna Ryan’s newest design "Seasons in Time". This six-block sampler features the quiet beauty and natural elegance of nature. You will be captivated and charmed while discovering the hidden treasures that await you! Nature’s beauty comes to life easily, with simple tools and techniques. The Block Kits -- including pattern and fabric -- will be available the First of each month, beginning in February and completing in July. This Block of the Month Program requires a six-month commitment when you sign up to complete the project. You may pay for it all at once or on a monthly basis. We provide you with the pattern, fabrics, and how-to instructions each month when you pick up your block. You will not have to run around to collect the large variety of fabrics in each block, then try to match the border and binding fabric when you are ready. "YOU MUST REMEMBER THIS" VINTAGE QUILT This is a twelve-block sampler from "judydidit designs." This vintage-style quilt is totally charming and will be in the 1930’s-style fabric kits that go so well with the pattern designs. However, the patterns are easy to master and we will be providing two of the block kits each month, beginning in February. You will finish in July with all twelve blocks and set it together easily for this bed size quilt!!! This sampler requires 5 yards of background fabric not included in the kits but the vintage-design fabric -- for blocks, borders and binding -- is included. Bring your own sewing machine as “The Cardinal” will be sewn on your sewing machine in class using a double needle (NOTE: your machine must be able to do a zig-zag stitch)! It is quilted as you go, so just bind and you're finished! The class model is so beautiful: you just might have to make several! Class size is limited so register early!! WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 25TH 1pm Sit and Stitchers Meeting Our new monthly hand-stitching group, SIT AND STITCHERS, is now forming! You are invited to join us. You will learn various hand stitching techniques each month, from basic embroidery to beading, to crazy quilt embellishment and more! We will meet at 1pm on the Fourth Wednesday of each month. NOTE: if instructors are scheduled, you will need to sign up in advance! The SIT & STITCH group will meet next on Feb. 25th at 1pm with a lesson in beginning beaded embellishment. The instructor fee is $5.00 for each person. There will be a variety of visiting instructors throughout the year, teaching needle-art techniques to our monthly group.
