Index Mt. Nebo Located near Dardanelle, AR Mt. Nebo is my favorite site to fly hanggliders. Jasper This site is located up north about 90 minutes on highway 7. It is an unregulated site which means that anyone can fly there. It is at times more challenging than Nebo and Magazine which are restricted to hang 3 and above pilots. DR Jack NAM This is where I get my soaring forecast. I like the NAM because it looks into the future up to two days. DR Jack RUC This version of Dr Jack only looks to the current day but may be better information than the NAM Winds Aloft I think that this might be a good tool for getting the winds aloft. If the wind at 3000 feet is above 30 MPH then it might be a bad idea to launch even if Dr Jack says that the winds in the boundary layer are OK. The launch may just be above the boundary layer!
