Phil Morgan, N5RQD

Hello, I have put together this simple web page because it suits me. Fancy web pages confuse me and sometimes make it difficult to find the information that I am looking for. There are no large photos or confusing html on this site. Hopefully, if you can't find what you are looking for on this site then there is a link to another site with the desired information. In case you were wondering, N5RQD is my amateur radio call sign. It is unique like a social security number. That call sign belongs to me and me alone. No one else can use it. If you do a GOOGLE search on N5RQD you will find a lot of stuff. I don't think that it is possible to steal my identity just from knowing my call sign, so I am not afraid to let people know what it is.

Hang gliding
I flew a hangglider from October, 1989 until my blown launch in July of 1999. That was nearly 10 years of fun. I haven't flown since that day but I plan to some day so I am keeping in touch with the sport.
Sailplane Soaring
I have been flying sailplanes since March of 2000. Sailplanes are airplanes without engines. I had one flight in 2004 that lasted for over 5 hours. It is a great hobby that I wish more people participated in.
Amateur Radio
I originally got my ham radio license so that I would have a reliable way to talk to Loretta while hanggliding. I still think that being a licensed radio operator is a valuable skill to have.
Personal
So far, only my brother in California and his wife have web pages, but as more of my relatives discover the joys of creating web sites I will create links to them.
Paddling
Paddling is a sport that is easy to enjoy here in Arkansas. There are many places to rent equipment and services and the water is good for at least two out of the twelve months.
My favorite blogs
I started blogging in 2005 and mainly am interested in Audio Blogs. I wish that more of my friends would do that also. It would be great to have the computer automatically download an hour's worth of mp3 files and place them on my mp3 player which I would then listen to on my way to and from work.
