Argus Fay Self, 84, of Clarksville died Monday, June 7, 1999.
He was a native of Clarksville, son of the late Robert Newton and Ida
Lou Dobbs Self, retired employee of a local food processing plant and Hardwicke
Funeral Home, and was preceded in death by his wife, Carman Berneice Warren
Self, one brother, Harlon Self, one sister, Erma Self, and one granddaughter,
Carman Ronea Jennings.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Wilma Cowell Self; one son and daughter-in-law,
Jewell Dean and Betty Self of Clarksville; two daughters and sons-in-law,
Myrtle Kathryn and J. C. Rofkahr of Owasso, Okla., and Janice Ruth and
Jack Wagner of Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters, Iva Evans of Clarksville and
Mary Springer of Tulsa, Okla.; five grandchildren and spouses, Gary Don
and Karen Rofkahr Of Owasso, Okla., Deana Jo and Jeff Selby of Lamar, Richard
Dean and Melinda Self of Clarksville, Kimberly Michelle and Troy Thompson
of Stillwater, Okla., and Terry Kay Rowan of Owasso, Okla.; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, at
Woodland Cemetery with Jerry Self officiating. Arrangements are under the
direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers will be Marvin Tice, K. P. Harvey, Ishmael Smith, Gary Don Rofkahr, Richard Dean Self, Jeff Selby, and Troy Thompson.
Ned J. Miner, 68, of Ozark died Thursday, June 3, 1999, in Ozark.
He was a farmer and cattle rancher.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Betty Burns Miner; two sons, Charles
Miner and Wayne Miner, both of Ozark; three stepdaughters, Linda Hall,
Charlotte Bartlett and Connie Harp, all of Clarksville; one stepson, Jim
Moore of Clarksville; three sisters, Geraldine McCartney of Mountain Top,
Joyce Kelly of Harrison and Irene Deering of Anderson, Ind.; four brothers,
Tommy Miner of Hartman, Freddie Miner of Ozark, Bill Miner of Selma, Calif.,
and Glen Miner of Harrison; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren;
nine stepgrandchildren; and 11 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 5, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel
in Ozark with burial in the Bethlehem Cemetery north of Hartman.
Active pallbearers were Brian McCormick, Eddie McCormick, Tom McCormick,
Eugene Willis, Mike Turner, and Joe Powell.
Grandsons served as honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. Pearl Christine Turpin, 88, of Clarksville died Monday, June 7,
1999, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late Amy Zar and Rachel Matilda Sheperd Franklin,
widow of William Taylor Turpin Sr., member of Faith Assembly of God Church,
and was preceded in death by two daughters, Berniece Watson and Betty Ann
Turpin, one son, Junior Turpin, three sisters, and seven brothers.
She is survived by four daughters, Shirley Cameron, Ruth Kemp and Pat
Strickland, all of Clarksville, and Clara Utley of Wynne; four sons, William
Turpin Jr., Carl Turpin, and Kenneth Turpin, all of Clarksville, and Ronald
Turpin of Jonesboro; one sister, Euin Lallion Barrier of Savannah, Tenn.;
24 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, at Roller-Cox Chapel with
Rev. D. G. Daniels officiating. Burial will be in Gibson Bayou Cemetery
at Earle.
Active pallbearers will be Stanley Turpin, Gerry Turpin, David Turpin,
Greg Kemp, Bryan Utley, and Brad Strickland.
Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Cameron, Barry Cameron, Dennis Cameron, Kevin Utley, and Charles Watson.
Thomas Henry McCullough, 68, of Hartman died Wednesday, June 2, 1999,
at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was an electrician and craftsman, Navy veteran, member of Centerpoint
Missionary Baptist Church, and son of the late Thomas McCullough.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Louise Kathy Colbert McCullough; five
daughters, Debra Foltz of Florida, Diane Mosier and Darla Smith, both of
Missouri, Doris Ruffcorn of Colorado, and Donna Guteriez of Texas; one
son, Thomas McCullough of Missouri; two stepdaughters, Lynette Newton and
Janette Newbill, both of South Carolina; one stepson, Kevin Connors of
Wisconsin; mother, Florence Arlene Oltman McCullough of Kansas City, Mo.;
one brother, Bobby Lee McCullough of Kansas City, Mo.; 22 grandchildren;
and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, June 7, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev.
O. L. Kinsey officiating. Burial was in Hartman Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Chris Smith, David Mosier, Jerry Ford, Owen
Slavens, James Smith and Dean Tillery.
Honorary pallbearers were member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Mrs. Virgie Marie Dalton, 73, of Pea Ridge died Wednesday, June 2, 1999,
at her home.
She was a native of Clarksville, daughter of the late Carry and Bessie
Gibson Anderson, former resident of Rogers, member of the New Life Full
Gospel Church in Bentonville, employee of Steele Canning Company for 20
years, and was preceded in death by one son, Donnie Dalton.
Survivors include her husband, Freeman Leon Dalton; one son, Dennis
Dalton of Blue Jacket, Okla.; two daughters, Janice Youngman of Pea Ridge
and Shirley Dalton of Pineville, Mo.; two sisters, Kathryn Tietjen of Garfield
and Alice Presser of Clarksville; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, June 4, at New Life Full Gospel Church
in Bentonville with Rev. Robert Ward officiating.
Burial was in Stillwell Cemetery north of Clarksville. Arrangements
were under the direction of Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge.
