
David H. Bailey Jr., 72, of Clarksville died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 1999,
at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a son of the late Dave and Bennie Manning Bailey, Navy veteran
of World War II, member of the Clarksville First United Methodist Church,
retired auto parts manager, and a retired member of the Clarksville Volunteer
Fire Department where he served from 1950-71 and was chief from 1957-61.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ruby Justice Bailey; two sons and
daughters-in-law, Brian and Carolyn Bailey of Morrilton and Loy and Reba
Bailey of Springdale; two sisters, Joyce Ann Dobbs and Norma Lee Warren,
both of Clarksville; two grandsons, Hayden Bailey and wife, Olivia, of
Morrilton and Mark Bailey of Springdale; two granddaughters, Jennifer Bailey
of Morrilton and Brooke Bailey of Springdale; and one great-granddaughter,
Abby Bailey of Morrilton.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at the First United Methodist
Church in Clarksville with Rev. Lowell Eaton officiating.
Burial was in Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral
Home.
Active pallbearers were Stewart Willey, Levon Stumbaugh, Tommy Ford,
Jimmy Morris, Sammy Wish, Jimmy Dickerson, Harold Lewis, and Harold Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers were John Taylor, Frank C. Eichenberger, and Joe Martin.
Ervin Lee Mayfield, 62, of Clarksville died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 1999,
at Fort Smith.
He was a son of the late Troy and Nona Williams Mayfield and employed
in sanitation at Tyson Foods for 13 years.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ruby Balentine Mayfield; one daughter,
Vicki Lynn Derrick of Clarksville; two sons, Ricky Lee Mayfield and Jeffrey
Alan Mayfield, both of Clarksville; one sister, Barbara Amorin of Newman,
Calif.; one brother, Granvel (Pop) Mayfield of Patterson, Calif.; and eight
grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at Union Grove Baptist Church
with Rev. Gerald Morris and Rev. Burnett King officiating.
Burial was in Union Grove Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox
Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Eddie Domerese, Paul Williams, Mike Williams,
Edsel Williams, Larry Williams, and Bob Mayfield.
Honorary pallbearers were Terry Williams, Jeff Dougan and Kent Cecil.
A memorial and rosary service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14,
at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Altus for Father John Walbe who died Jan.
13, 1999, at the Subiaco Abbey Health Center,
Father Hilary Filiatreau will officiate at the service at which time the public is invited to attend
Quinton Lee Clarke, infant son of Kelly and Troy Clarke of Page, Ariz.,
was born and died on Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999.
Other survivors include one brother, Cameron Clarke of the home; maternal
grandparents, Randy and Carolyn Hendrix of Page, Ariz.; maternal great-grandparents,
Albert and Alice Hendrix of Lamar and Vera McClaine of Lamar; paternal
grandparents, Randall and Lynn Clarke of Page, Ariz.; paternal great-grandparents,
Gladys and David Parce of Mitchel, S. D., and Sandy and Tom Milroy of Yankton,
S. D.; and one aunt, Shannon Hendrix of Phoenix, Ariz.
Memorial services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at Camelback
Sunset Chapel in Phoenix, Ariz.
The body was cremated.
Mrs. Syble Dulene Kinney, 81, of Bryant died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, in
Bryant.
She was a native of Hartman, daughter of the late Carl and Gladys Evans,
retired school employee, member of the First United Methodist Church of
Bryant, and was preceded in death by one sister, Allene Douthit.
Survivors include her husband, Neil Kinney; one son, Gary Kinney of
Midway; one daughter, Gail Blevins of Little Rock; and six grandchildren,
Dana Kinney, Vanessa Kinney, Jesse Kinney, Moriah Blevins, Mathew Blevins,
and Abigail Blevins.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, at the First United Methodist
Church in Bryant with Rev. Bud Reeves officiating.
Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery at Clarksville under the direction of Ashby Funeral Home of Bryant.
Willene Foley, 55, of Van Buren, sister of Patricia Meeler and Susie
Richard of Coal Hill, died Monday, Jan. 25, 1999, at her home.
She was a native of Altus, daughter of the late Johnny and Emogene Rowland
Jones, and a member of the New Vision Worship Center.
Survivors include her husband, Gene; three daughters, Tamara Mills and
Debra David, both of Van Buren, and Darla Sisney of Kibler; one son, Brian
of Van Buren, one other sister, Velma Darrow of Kibler; two brothers, Johnny
(Buster) Jones and Alan (Junior) Jones, both of Van Buren, and three grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial
Chapel in Van Buren with Rev. Edwin Kidd and Rev. Joe Fonville officiating.
Burial was at Gill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Larry Black, Eric Black, Gary Black, Steven Black,
Brian Foley, and Phillip Roam.
