Anna Walton Stumbaugh, 81, of North Little Rock, formerly of
Clarksville, died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004, in Little Rock.
She was a daughter of the late C. B. and Ruby Hughes Walton, graduate
of Clarksville High School, widow of LTC Leon E. Stumbaugh, member of
First United Methodist Church of North Little Rock, active in arts and
crafts groups as well as a maker of porcelain dolls and ceramic
objects, and was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, R. P.
and Jimmy Earl Walton, and one sister, Ruby Walton Farr.
Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Paula Padilla of
Little Rock and Cheryl and Bill Fuller of Jacksonville; two sons and
one daughter-in-law, Ron and Debbie Stumbaugh of Fayetteville and Scott
Stumbaugh of Van Buren; one brother, Henry Walton of Clarksville; and
nine grandchildren and spouses, Delanna and David Pennington and Pilar
and Jody Woody, all of Little Rock, Lynsey Stumbaugh and James Scott
Stumbaugh, both of Van Buren, Craig and Cindy Fuller of Jackson, Tenn.,
Spencer Fuller of Memphis, Tenn., Lance and Christina Stumbaugh, Kurt
and Jen Stumbaugh, and Jordan and Jill Stumbaugh, all of Fayetteville;
and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, at the First
United Methodist Church in North Little Rock.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, at the First United
Methodist Church in Clarksville with Rev. Steve Wingo and Ron Stumbaugh
officiating.
Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke
Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Craig Fuller, Spencer Fuller, Lance Stumbaugh, Kurt
Stumbaugh, Jordan Stumbaugh, and James Scott Stumbaugh.
Argie Faye Williams, 76, of Clarksville died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004, at
Southwest Regional Medical Center in Little Rock.
She was a lifelong member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church,
daughter of the late Corbet and Rosie Acord Sexton, widow of Thomas P.
Williams, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Judy Lingar, and
one grandson, Nick D. Williams.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and David Pitts
of Gastonia, N. C., and Pat and Dane Lingar of Little Rock; two sons
and one daughter-in-law, Jerry Williams and Ed and Jana Williams, all
of Clarksville; 17 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, at Landmark Missionary
Baptist Church with Rev. Ransom Storms officiating.
Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox
Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Roger Williams, Mike Williams, Harold
Little, Dale Wood, Mike Krause, Dale Caldwell, Wayne Wheeler, and
Darrel Wheeler.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren.
John Edwin Overbey, 61, of Knoxville died Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, at
Johnson Regional Medical Center.
A native of Lamar, he was a son of the late Charles Vaden and Myrtle
Susie Hutchins Overbey, graduate of Ventura (California) High School,
member of the Eagles Club, and was preceded in death by one sister,
Betty Pitts.
He is survived by one daughter, Susan Overbey of Washington; one son,
Mike Overbey of Knoxville; one sister, Magdalene Kirkpatrick of
Knoxville; one brother, Charles Overbey of Brea, Calif.; and two
grandchildren, John Charles Overbey and Joseph Clayton Overbey, both of
Hobbs, N. M.
Lena Mattie Parker, 91, of Ozark, sister of Odys Hardcastle of
Clarksville, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, at Mercy Hospital/Turner
Memorial in Ozark.
She was a native of Ozark, daughter of the late James and Hattie
Nichols Hardcastle, retired nurses' aide and a Protestant.
Other survivors include two daughters, Alma Parker and Molly Graham,
both of Ozark; one stepson, Billy Parker of Ozark; two sisters, Mary
Opper of Ozark and Ocena Sutliff of Paris; four grandchildren, Mickey
Graham, Kelly Graham, Larry Parker, and Mike Parker; six
great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Marvin R. Johnson (Buster Tipton), 77, died Aug. 22, 2004, in Seattle,
Wash.
He was a native of Hartman, son of the late Marshall and Elizabeth
Tipton, veteran, mechanic, musician, and preceded in death by three
brothers.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael Johnson of
Seattle, Wash., and Mark and Marva Johnson of Roseville, Calif.; one
daughter and son-in-law, Dianna and Troy Flowers of Sacramento, Calif.;
one sister, Shirley Curtis of Stockton, Calif.; one brother, James
Tipton of Stockton, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
Marian (Mary) Vaught, 84, widow of Hoyt Vaught, died Aug. 23, 2004, at
ELMC Hospice in Arvada, Colo.
She was born in Homestead, Mont., to Murdock and Annie McEachern,
graduate of Medicine Lake High School, former resident of Medicine Lake
and Poplar, Mont., and Casper, Wyo., member of the Fort Peck Tribes,
retired oil company secretary, and was preceded in death by one
daughter, Laverne Corne, and one son, Melvin Buckles.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Ken (Gloria) Okazaki of Arvada,
Colo.; two stepchildren, Jesse Vaught and Frankie Lea Mayer of
Clarksville; two sisters, Annie Torgerson of Appleton, Minn., and Iva
Mayhew of Jamestown, N. D.; seven grandchildren; and 13
great-grandchildren.
A private interment will be held at the Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery
in Casper, Wyo.
Stephen B. Schumacher, 30, of London died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004, from
injuries sustained in an automobile accident on County Road 3590.
He was a native of Russellville, graduate of Lamar High School and
Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, attended Crossroads Community
Church in London, and employed by Kersch Management Company.
Survivors include his parents, Edward and Joan Schumacher of London;
grandmother, Genevieve Schumacher of London; three sisters, Joy Bliss
of Fort Smith, Karen Smith of Rogers, and Lisa Schumacher of Boston,
Mass.; two brothers, David Schumacher and Doug Schumacher, both of
London; and dearly beloved Donette of London.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, at
Crossroads Community Church at London with Edward Schumacher
officiating.
