Alverne McKinney Copeland, 86, of Warren, aunt of Linda Byrd of Clarksville,
died Friday, Feb. 22, 2002, at Stella Manor Nursing Center in Russellville.
She was a native of Warren, daughter of the late Webb and Roxie Davis
McKinney, widow of Floyd Curtis Copeland, member of First Baptist Church,
and was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and
Ralph Wilkinson.
She is survived by one nephew, Don Wilkinson of Arkadelphia; and one
other niece, Donna Vittitow of Dewitt.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, at Oakland
Cemetery in Warren with Rev. Greg Stanley officiating. Arrangements were
under the direction of Frazer Funeral Home of Warren.
Pallbearers were Don Byrd, John Little, Sam Vittitow, Hunter Davis, Don Wilkinson, and Max Givens.
Brother Aelred Walmsley, O. S. B., monk of Subiaco Abbey, died Thursday,
Feb. 21, 2002, at the Abbey.
A native of East Orange, N. J., he received his elementary education
at Our Lady of All Souls School in East Orange and attended East Orange
High School. He received further education at New York School of Freight
Traffic in New York and at Newark College of Engineering in New Jersey.
He was a son of the late Alfred and Jean Clinton Walmsley.
Prior to entering Subiaco Abbey, he was employed in the traffic department
at Western Electric Company in New York and from 1950-55 was bursar for
the Grace Steamship Line before being employed as a draftsman by Otis Elevator
in New Jersey.
In 1979 he came to Subiaco Abbey where he entered the Novitiate in February
1980 and made profession of vows on Sept. 14, 1981. During his years at
Subiaco, he served as host maker, mailman, and bookbinder, was in charge
of the monk's dining room, worked in the development office and laundry,
and was a participant and supporter of the Abbey's wellness program.
Survivors include one daughter, Jean Marie Luciano of Licester, Mass.;
two brothers, Robert Walmsley of Basking Ridge, N. J., and Peter Walmsley
of Carmel, Calif.; and one sister, Mary Jane Postal of Basking Ridge, N.
J.
A Christian Wake Service was held at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, and the Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, in Saint Benedict Church at Subiaco. Interment was in the Abbey cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
Beverly (Kasey) Kay England, 41, of San Augustine, Texas, died Sunday,
Feb. 17, 2002, in Center, Texas.
She was a native of Lafayette, Ind., daughter of the late Lee England
Jr., and a customer service manager for Wal-Mart in Center, Texas. She
was preceded in death by one sister, Kathy Lee England; and one brother,
Gary Allen England.
Survivors include two daughters, Alexa L. Childress of Huntsville and
Krystal Hill of Arkadelphia; one son, Archie Moreno of Dardanelle; mother
and stepfather, Madonna L. (Halseme) and Tommy Sears of Mountain View;
three sisters, Rebecca Rose England and Brenda Ann Davis, both of Mountain
View, and Betty Sue England of Ontario, Canada; two brothers, William Walker
England of Cameron, Mo., and Jerry Lee England of Norman, Okla.; and three
grandchildren, Joseph Chisum, Austin Hill and Kristi Hill.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Watson and Sons Funeral
Home of Center, Texas.
A memorial service will be held in Arkansas at a later date.
Dorothy B. Ford, 86, of Knoxville died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at Johnson
Regional Medical Center.
A native of Okfuskee County, Okla., and former resident of Henryetta,
Okla., she was a daughter of the late Buck and Essie Chappell Ralston,
widow of Jim Ford, Baptist, and former fiberglass employee with Kenner
Boat Company and later with Form-All where she retired after 20 years.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Peggy Davidson; three sisters,
Tula Trantham, Lola Birdwell, and Eula Kub; and two brothers, Vernon Ralston
and Dalton Ralston.
She is survived by four sons, Bill Upton of Ashdown, Don Upton of Clarksville,
Gary Upton of Warner, Okla., and Jimmy Ford of Knoxville; and numerous
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at Humphrey Funeral Service in Russellville with burial in Knoxville Cemetery.
Eugenia (Tootsie) Hull
Garland Wesley (Bub) Hull and his wife, Eugenia F. (Tootsie) Hull, of
Route 1, Lamar died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, in a fire which destroyed
their home.
He was a son of the late Marion Doyal and Dorthy Woodrow Pearson Hull
and self-employed. She was a daughter of the late Duel and Juanita Myers
Freeman.
They are survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Dorthy and Mike Farmer
of Lamar; and two grandchildren, Michael Dean Farmer and Britney Rose Farmer,
both of Lamar.
He is also survived by three sisters, Freda Rose Hull, Frances Doreen
Stockton and Janis June Hull, all of Lamar; and one brother, John David
Hull of Hagarville; and she is also survived by two sisters, Sis Ivey of
Dover and Louetta Wilkerson of Gainesville, Ga.; and two brothers, Bob
Freeman of Dover and Dave Freeman of Centerville.
A memorial service for the couple was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating.
Noel C. Snow, 77, of Atkins, formerly of Johnson County, died Sunday,
Feb. 24, 2002, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
He was a son of the late Columbus and Bertie Lambdin Snow, farmer, World
War II Navy veteran, member of the Lee's Chapel Assembly of God Church,
and was preceded in death by one son, Timothy Noel Snow; and two sisters,
Melba Montgomery and Lois Snow.
Survivors are his widow, Eva Williams Snow; eight daughters, Aileen
Haston of Midway, Katherine Standridge and Melissa G. Sams, both of Lamar,
Nola Sue Perkins of California, Elizabeth R. Jolley and Pamala Lynn Snow,
both of Dover, and Ruth Lois Snow and Caitlin Snow, both of Middleton,
Idaho; two sons, Houston Snow of Dierks and Russell Leon Snow of Middleton,
Idaho; four sisters, Gladys Snow and Eula Carpenter, both of Stockton,
Calif., Katherine Giles of Russellville, and Flora Hardin of California;
one brother, Doyle Snow of Stockton, Calif.; four stepsons, Bobby Curtis
of Russellville, and Ronnie Curtis, James Curtis, and Paul Curtis, all
of At-
kins; one stepdaughter, Adona Chronister of Hector; 17 grandchildren; 12
great-grandchildren; 15 stepgrandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at the Lee's Chapel Assembly
of God Church with Rev. Amos Pledger, Rev. Jimmy Cheatham, Rev. Darwin
Barnhouse, and Rev. Richard Falbo officiating.
Burial will be in the Adams Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox
Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Brian Moore, Ronnie Curtis Jr., Wesley Curtis, Dustin
Curtis, Sammy Williams, and Billy Curtis.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Tom Everett Davidson, 73, formerly of Clarksville and Little Rock, died
Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at his home in Pensacola, Fla.
He and his wife, Jean Esmond Davidson, are former owners and operators
of Clarksville Convalescent Home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Lola Mae Davidson;
one daughter, Sheryl Lynn; two sisters, Jesse Farris and Virgie Wise; and
one brother, John Marple.
Other than his wife, he is survived by one brother, Buddy Bohannon of
Alma; two sisters, Wilma Duff of Clinton, La., and Alene Johnson of Clarksville;
and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral was Tuesday, Feb. 5, at the Eastern Gate Funeral Home with burial
at the Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens in Pensacola, Fla.

Therman (T. L.) Lee, 78, of Tulsa, Okla., died Monday, Feb. 25, 2002,
in Tulsa, Okla.
A native of Hunt, he was a son of the late Ted and Ancil Lee, World
War II veteran, mechanic for American Airlines for 33 years, and was preceded
in death by one brother, Eugene Lee.
Survivors include his widow, Betty Lee; two sons and daughters-in-law,
Michael and Rebecca Lee and Jimmy and Donna Lee, all of Tulsa, Okla.; one
daughter and son-in-law, Myra and Paul Volgamore of Tulsa, Okla.; eight
grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Okla., with Rev. Dale Dyer officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Mark Griffith Memorial Funeral Home, Westwood Chapel, in Tulsa, Okla.
William S. Baka, 83, of Clarksville died Friday, Feb. 22, 2002, at Johnson
Regional Medical Center.
He was a retired printer, World War II Army veteran, son of the late
George Baka, and was preceded in death by one brother, George Baka.
Survivors include one daughter, Darlene Arnold of Sun City, Ariz.; one
son, W. M. Baka Jr.; one sister, Sophia Baka of Chicago, Ill.; and one
grandchild.
The body was cremated.
