Easter A. Standen, 92, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001,
at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
A native of Clarksville, she was a daughter of the late William and
Isabelle Shelton Phillips, widow of Frank Standen, and attended First Baptist
Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Catharine Johnson of Clarksville and
Christine Ransom of Port Angeles, Wash.; three grandchildren, Lisa Hotsenpiller
of Lowell, Darel Johnson of Clarksville, and Kim Greene of Porta La Cruz,
Venezuela; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside service and burial were at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at Oakland
Cemetery with Dr. Robert Brown officiating. Arrangements were under the
direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Frank F. Alford, 87, of El Monte, Calif., died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001.
He was a former resident of Clarksville (Mt. Olive Community) and Van
Buren and a 35-year employee of Southern Pacific and Amtrak railways.
Survivors include his widow, Lillian Alford; two sons, John Alford of
Bull Head City, Ariz., and Frank Alford Jr. of Jackson, Calif.; one brother-in-law,
W. C. Jetton of Sacramento, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
Burial was Oct. 12 at Oakdale Memorial Park in Glendora, Calif.
George Stall, 87, of Wann, Okla., died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at Johnson
Regional Medical Center.
A native of Wann, Okla., he was a retired farmer, son of the late Edward
and Mildred Stall, member of First Baptist Church of Coffeyville, Kan.,
and was preceded in death by his wife, Zelma Stall; two brothers; and four
sisters.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald and Frances
Stall of Clarksville and Harold and Connie Stall of Wann, Okla.; two sisters,
Alma Nelson of New Orleans, La., and Clara Brown of Bartlesville, Okla.;
one brother, Carl Stall of Tulsa, Okla.; four grandchildren and spouses,
Kenneth and Janelle Stall of Clarksville, Kimberly and Autry Meeker of
Searcy, Melinda and Richie Self of Clarksville, and Michelle and Jeff Weil
of Edna, Kan.; 11 grandchildren, Angela, Bradley and Rachel Stall of Clarksville,
Lauren and Kristen Meeker of Searcy, Devin, Aeryk and Lexie Self of Clarksville,
and Lane Reeves, Cody and Rumor Weil of Edna, Kan.; and several nieces
and nephews.
Funeral arrangements will be under the direction of Arnold Moore Funeral Service of Bartlesville, Okla., with burial in Wann, Okla.
Kenneth Loy Walker, 64, of Oak Ridge, Tenn., died Thursday, Oct. 25,
2001, at his home.
He was born in Albuquerque, N. M., the son of Elijah Samuel and Ethel
Boyd Walker, and was a former resident of Ozark where he graduated as an
honor student with the class of 1955 and was a member of the Ozark Hillbillies
football team.
He attended the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville for two years
where he played football with the Mountaineers and was a member of the
O Club, the student council, and the art club. He was an artist and designer,
had nine patents on robotics designs and was employed with the Oak Ridge
National Laboratory as an engineer.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Stephen Kenneth
Walker of Clinton, Tenn., and Michael David and Ann Walker of Idaho Falls,
Idaho; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lorri and Thomas McCroskey of Walland,
Tenn., and Rebecca Jane and Robert Jordan of Cary, N. C.; and three grandchildren,
Margo Rhea Jordan of Cary, N. C., and Katherine McCroskey and Elizabeth
McCroskey, both of Walland, Tenn.
Funeral was at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Weatherford Mortuary in Oak Ridge, Tenn., with Dr. James Dougherty officiating. Graveside service and burial were Sunday, Oct. 28, at the Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton, Tenn.
Leonard Earl Reynolds, 82, of Clarksville died Friday, Nov. 2, 2001,
at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Clarksville, World
War II Army veteran, retired teacher, and son of the late James Ernest
and Ruby Cummings Reynolds.
Survivors include his widow, Ruby Steuart Reynolds; one son, Lynn Earl
Reynolds of Fort Smith; and one brother and sister-in-law, Wilford E. and
Beverley Reynolds of North Little Rock.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, at the First Presbyterian Church
in Clarksville with Rev. Lance Jones officiating.
Burial was in Lone Pine Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral
Home.
Active pallbearers were Fritz Ehren, Charles Groskopf, Denton Tumbleson,
Turner Whitson, Morris Pearson, and Jon Newton.
Honorary pallbearers were John Bock, Robert Basham, Wayne Roble, Ed
Poynor, Stewart Willey, and W. R. Scarborough.

Funeral for Ruth Evelyn Sherrell, 68, of Tulsa, Okla., who died Saturday,
Oct. 27, 2001, was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, at First Assembly of God
Church in Sand Springs, Okla. Graveside service and burial followed at
4 p.m. at the Sherrellville Cemetery with arrangements by Mobley-Dodson
Funeral Home.
She was the widow of Brooklyn Sherrell, native of Missouri, member of
First Assembly of God Church in Sand Springs, Okla., and was retired from
Cloth World where she was employed as a sales associate and craft consultant.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Sherrell of Sapulpa, Okla., and Jody Sherrell of Tulsa, Okla.; and three daughters, Margery Satterfield of Muskogee, Okla., Elaine Morgan of New Braunfels, Texas, and Brooksyne Weber of Mount Joy, Pa.
Tommie Irene Marshall, 95, of Oark died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at her
home.
She was a daughter of the late Dr. John and Laura Pyron Floyd, retired
Tyson Foods employee, and was preceded in death by two sisters, Ocie Dickerson
and Frankie Dickerson; and one brother, Deward Floyd.
She is survived by one sister, Ruby Harden of Haskell, Okla.; two nephews,
Floyd Dickerson of Conway and Curtis Wayne Harden of Lawton, Okla.; three
nieces, Gwen Jones of North Little Rock, Barbara Clark of Fort Smith, and
Madge Purser of Ada, Okla.; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Graveside service and burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Oakland Cemetery with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Virgil T. Smith, 91, of Dallas, Texas, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001.
He was a native of Johnson County and was preceded in death by his wife,
Ethel Smith; and son-in-law, Jim Hammers.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Hammers; two sisters and one
brother-in-law, Estella Sefcik and Lola and Flynn Kinman of Clarksville;
one brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Sue Smith of Garland, Texas;
two grandchildren and spouses, Brett and Shannon Hammers and Bob and Lori
Hammers; and seven great-grandchildren, Casey, Garrett, Tyler, Cade, Lesley,
Caylea, and Colton.
Graveside service and burial were at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas, under the direction of Restland Funeral Home.
