James H. Mooney, 80, of Clarksville died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, at
Johnson Regional Medical Center.
A son of the late Brady H. and Cordelia Hignite Mooney, he was a farmer,
Baptist, World War II veteran, and was preceded in death by one sister,
Ruth Adams; and three stepchildren, Shirley Cowan, Wendell Cowan and James
Cowan.
Survivors include his widow, Minerva Wages Mooney; one son and daughter-in-law,
Lawrence and Anita Mooney of Knoxville; one sister, Edith Carpenter of
Ozark; and three grandchildren, Annetta Mooney of Mayflower, Jamey Mooney
of Knoxville, and LaDonna Wheeler of Fayetteville.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at Roller-Cox Chapel with
Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Don Wages, Everett Turner, Don Langdon, Hurlon
Moore, Rickey Wages, and Jeff Hunter.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lee Russell and Leonard Carpenter.
Margaret Zimpel Bachner, 80, of Clarksville died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001,
at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock.
A native of Clarksville, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Regina
Werner Zimpel, widow of Arthur J. Bachner, graduate of St. Scholastic Academy
in Fort Smith, member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, former member of
Parish Council, a teacher of religious education, member and officer of
Christian Mother's Society and Catholic Women's Union of Arkansas, and
was office manager at Grant Publishing Corporation in Chicago, Ill., for
20 years.
She is survived by four nieces, Mary Smith of Houston, Texas, Jeanie
Baltz of Fayetteville, Margie Trembley of Lisle, Ill., and Judy Zimpel
of Clarksville; one nephew, John Zimpel of Mabelvale; one stepson, Don
Bachner of Joplin, Mo.; one stepdaughter, Jackie Walls of Coral Springs,
Fla.; two aunts, Cecelia Ballard and Katherine Morrow, both of Little Rock;
and seven sisters-in-law, Loretta Zimpel of Clarksville, Mary O'Connell
of Greenfield, Wis., Alice Lauer of LaGrange, Ill., Anna Lantvit of Illinois,
Gertie Green of Colorado Springs, Colo., Louise Haygood of Merritt Island,
Fla., and Laverne Bachner of West Palm Beach, Fla.
Rosary was at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel
with Father David Bellinghausen officiating. Funeral mass will be at 10
a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Abbot Jerome
Kodell officiating. Burial will be in Holy Redeemer Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bernard Werner, Gene Raible, Albert Baltz, Dr. John McAuley, Chuck Lorfing, and Kevin Baltz.
Odin Eckart Guenther, 52, of Oark died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, at
a Little Rock hospital.
He was a native of Rheingoenheim, Germany, son of the late Hugo Karl
Guenther and Eleonore Beutel Guenther, violinist, music teacher, member
of the North Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and the Hot Springs Festival Orchestra,
and was in the piano tuning and restoration business.
Survivors include his widow, Joanne Linda Guenther; two daughters, Arline
Guenther and Idun Guenther, both of Oark; one brother and sister-in-law,
Irmin and Marie Luise Guenther of Rheingoenheim, Germany; one sister and
brother-in-law, Holly and Michael Shore of Millford, Conn.; aunt and uncle,
Helene and Helmut Wurth of Croydon, Australia; one cousin, Ulrike Hobbs
of Australia; two nieces; and one grandnephew.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Lance Jones officiating.
