I wish I could say this was a picture of my layout, but it's not.
My HO layout consists of about 250' of track on 5 levels in a space of 12' x 8'.
Five sidings, or spurs, hold trains that are in "storage" until called for service.
As the logo indicates, my theme is the Union Pacific Railroad System as that
is the carrier that travels through Russellville, AR.
Soon, there will be color photographs of the layout that is, as always, never finished.
Major construction was finished in the Spring of 1995, with scenery always under
construction and the electonic traffic controls, from Interegrated Signal Systems, being
added as time, and finances, permit. Ultimately, my hope is to have the complete layout to run
unattended and under computer control.
Current locomotives include a recently purchased Rivarossi UP #3984 Challenger steam
engine, the world's largest operating steam locomotive, UP E8/9 #949 & #951 from
Proto 2000. A six unit passenger train from Rivarossi in the "smooth side" 1940's design.
A coal "unit train" from Walthers representing the major rail traffic through Russellville.
Other motors are in the SD-7/38/40 series with various freight loads. Some rolling stock
is over 20 years old, however most are recent purchases.
