I arrived in Copenhagen
right on schedule, midnight. However, I didn't find anybody there to meet me, not even
some longhaired, hippy person this time. Now,
I had a major decision that needed to be made.
In about 15 minutes the last train to Virum, my final destination, would be leaving. Otherwise, a long night in the
Copenhagen train station awaited me.
I remember an e-mail from
my former International student Martin "Visti" Larsen. He told me very emphatically that he
would meet me in Copenhagen and not Virum, his hometown, as he would be working
at the office late that night and just drive over to pick me up. What he failed to realize was that the
time I had given him for midnight-thirty arrival in Virum. So, I sent him reminder e-mail from
Kempten telling him that I would arrive 30 minutes earlier in Copenhagen. As fate would have it, he did not
receive that e-mail. It showed up
on his dad's notebook computer instead. His
dad, thinking it would show up at home as well, didn't even open it up to see
what I had to say. Anyway, they
showed up about he time I needed to board the S-Bahn for Virum.

One of my excursions about Danmark was to Frederiksbørg Castle located about half way between Virum and the Larsen Summer House near Hillerød. This is one of the the most elaborate Danish castles, it was build mostly to impress and not as much as a fortification. It was completed in 1620.
