Fools go in where angels fear to tread

GOOD & BAD

My Maroline!

"Angel Talk?   Do you habla Angelica?"

Angels are sent forth to help the heirs of salvation, Heb 1:14, so maybe it would be helpful if we spoke their language?

The Apostle Paul wrote "though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels..." (1Cor13) -- he wrote that in the love chapter which is centered between the two chapters about tongues, and yet we still have those who declare that tongues are of the devil. Oh, really?

Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Rev5:5

Connect this verse to the Old Testament account (in 1Kings13) of the two "men of God" and how one of them lied to the other. The one who believed the lie, rather than what had been told him by the Lord directly, suffered the ultimate fate -- killed (though not eaten) by a lion! Now the Devil goes about "as a roaring lion", seeking whom he may devour. 1Pet5:8.
Moral: Don't violate the Word of God, even if an angel tells you to!

Romans 15:4 tells us "whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning". Not just our reading pleasure or light entertainment, but for learning and study.

The lying prophet (a scriptural paradox or oxymoron) said that an angel told him to say it!

We don't get our faith from angels--we trust only in the Word of the Lord which is the sixty-six books of the Bible--- the 39 books of the Old Testament and the 27 books of the New. Which is not to say that angels can't be seen or heard, or be beneficial; but beware of anything or anyone who contradicts the Truth that is Jesus and The Word. Are you adding to the Word? Leaving out something? Well of course we all do that to a certain extent every time we discuss it, but let's endeavor to keep the gist of what we're saying true to the entirety of Scripture.

Shandala, Shandala Angels are strong and powerful (2Pet2:11, Ps103:20) and there's an incredible number of them (Heb 12:22), and they're of a higher order or more advanced stage of life than mankind (Heb 2:7,9, Mk 12:25). They seem to be right at home in the fire (Judg 13:20, Ps104:4, Heb 1:7) and able to appear or disappear at will. Jesus said that twelve legions of them would respond if he would just say the word. Mt26:53.

We're warned not to worship the angels (Col 2:18), and that we might be entertaining them without being aware of it, Heb 12:2. The children have their own personal angels in heaven, Mt18:10, and perhaps the adults also, but it takes time for the angels to get back and forth, Dan 10:12. In his case it was twenty one days, or three weeks! Maybe they aren't flying at all, but rather climbing up and down ladders as Jacob dreamed in Gen28:12. Do you suppose that only refers to angels who haven't earned their wings, like in "It's A Wonderful Life"?

1 cross plus 3 nails equals 4-given The Sistine Chapel in the Vatican not withstanding, there doesn't seem to be any record of female angels in Scripture, nor fat baby angels either, and it's possible that even the good angels will include some who are less than perfect because Paul wrote how we'd be judging them in the world to come: 1Cor6:3. Maybe that will include the one named Moroni who brought the "newer" [sic] gospel to the Mormons. And, oh yes, the angels Raphael and Uriel are not from the canon of Scripture, but from the historical books of the Apocrypha.

The ranks of the angels seem to begin at the top with the Archangel Michael, Jude 9, and then Gabriel, Lk 1:19, followed by the Seraphim of Isaiah 6 and the Cherubims, Ex25:18 who watch over the Ark of the Covenant, and who help guard the Way of the Tree of Life, Gen3:24. This heavenly caste system might cause us to reflect on Psalm 75:6 and how promotion comes from God who dwells in the "sides of the north". Ps48:2.

I feel like this in the morning until
I've had at least one cup of coffee! It's a traditional tendency to think of all angels as good, and of heaven as an idyllic place of perfection and peace, but the Bible also tells us about the angels of Satan, the bad messengers (2Cor 11:14, Rev9:11) including the pride-filled fallen Lucifer, (Isa 14:12) and about a war in heaven! Rev12:7. Maybe we aren't going to get as much Rest as we counted on..?? Heb4:9.
