THE GREAT RAPTURE (catching away) OF THE CHURCH.
Fly away and leave this old world

The Exodus to come! The first Exodus was when Moses led the "Children of Israel" out of Egypt and into "The Promised Land of milk and honey". Now, under the New Covenant, Peter and Paul describe scripture as "milk of the word", similar to the way David describes it as 'honey' in Psalm 19.

The second Exodus was after they'd been in captivity in Babylon for seventy years and finally returned to Jerusalem as foretold by Jeremiah (29:10) and Daniel (9:2). Now, with hindsight, we can see how heaven is our promised land, and how we've been captive all these years (Similar to the way Simeon was held hostage in Egypt waiting for the brothers to return, Gen42:24) waiting for our own Exodus, otherwise known as the rapture.

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be [raptured] caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord". 2Thes4:16,17 KJV

Compare this OT verse with the NT

"...when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him". Josh6:5.

The two dreams of the Pharaoh were actually "one", according to Joseph who spoke for God in a mighty way. Thereafter in scripture we read about many two's which are accounted as one in meaning or purpose.

"And for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass". Gen41:32

Two trees, two pillars, two tables, two golden calves, two great lights, two holy places, two nations, two 'great' commandments, two witnesses, two covenants, two resurrections, two testaments, etc. etc.

Enoch and Elijah were both figures of the rapture -- of the catching away to heaven of the Saints who are 'saved' by believing in Jesus.

"And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him". Gen5:24

"And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven". 2Kings2:11

When the two angels went to rescue Lot from the wicked City of Sodom, Gen 19, it was a different perspective of these last days when we're being overwhelmed with the wickedness on TV and in the movies.

"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good; Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away". 2Tim3:1-5

ABSENT FROM THE BODY = PRESENT WITH THE LORD!

The Apostle Paul wrote: "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you. Phil 1:21-24 KJV.

and also: "Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord". 2Cor5:6-8 KJV

Did anyone see this coming? King David evidentally did, when he spoke of the baby who had died; "I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me". 2Sam12:23.

The Rapture - The Exodus - Fly-away - The Twinkling - The Day of The Lord

Many synonyms are used in scripture; like "born-again", and "saved", and "translated", and even baptized (when the first baptizm is recognized as being placed into the Body of Christ). So, even though the word "rapture" is not found in the Bible, it's a coming event which all Christians recognize, and most look forward to with anticipation.

"The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away". Ps90:10

"Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed". 1Cor15:52

"But the Day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up". 2Pet3:10
