Rendezvous

A little room that overlooks

A peaceful scene, a lovely lake

Became the Center of the Universe

For me, a piece of Paradise

When first I kissed your lips

And gazed into your eyes

When our lips met and mingled

Words of love, breathlessly spoken

While our bodies conversed

In passion's language of tactile sense

And time, the world outside the door

Were lost to me, as I drank in your taste

Your smell, the feel of skin against my own

As your body became as my own flesh

Melded to me in the ecstasy of love

With whispered words, like daggers

Cut into my soul, found me out

Made me a helpless captive, as

I boldly ventured in too deep

And drowned beneath the waves of bliss

That had beckoned to me from afar...

And I have yet to ascertain

If this is love, or just love's curse

That dooms me now forever

To return there in my dreams
