1.If the intensityof a ride is too high, NO-ONE WILL GO ON IT!!! They are all too
scared.Agood intensity ride is between 2.50 and 8.00.And even at 8.00 not
manypeople will go on the ride!
2.A good rideis one with intensity6 or 7, nausea rating no higher than 3 or 4 and
excitementabove 5. The pre-made ones are just about right, if you modify them, modify them slightly.
3.Try to place theme objects around your rides. For example, a runaway
mine-trainride (wooden rollercoaster with mine trucks) could have a mine
wheel thing that is available after a certain amount of research (they come
underthe mine theme in the gardens/benches etc window) and a nice paved
area suspended over a lake could have a fountain as the centerpiece. I'm sure
youcan think of other things.
4.Don't just raise and lower land and water levels for the fun of it as it costs a lot
of money and it cannot be refunded, even if you are returning the land toit's
original level.
5.If, when building a rollercoaster, you get a message telling you that the next
section cannot be built because it is too high for the supports, then raise the
land (only if you are sure the rollercoaster will be worth it) under the proposed
section of track until it lets you build it.Please remember that the land can only
be returned to it's original level AT A COST!
6.If you are building a monorail, try and make the station platforms as big as
possible.Thiswill allow you to have a really big, modern train. When you have
finishedconstruction, click on the 'train' tab on the ride control center thenon
thebit that tells you that you have small, monorail cars and change it to'large
monorail train. This looks a lot better.
7.Anothermonorail tip.The monorail does not have to be a complete circuit,
unlikethe miniature train. To have an incomplete circuit, simply click on the
'gears'tab and click on the box with 'continuous circuit mode and change it to
'shuttlemode. This will then enable the mono-train to travel back and forth on
thesame piece of track.
8. My favorite trick! Use the pause button a lot, unless you want to scenario to finish too fast, and probably catch you in the middle of a large project, and you haven't met your goals. Take the pause time to survey your land and testing new ride fits, or if you're building your own ride, this can be quite time consuming, meanwhile the scenario is careening towards completion and you Park is losing Rating or Money while you're otherwise engaged. Forsome reason, your Park value and ratings plummet in the latter stages of the scenario, so you can't just let it ride with 4 or 5 months left. Check your messages often, and if you need to upkeep your park, slip those in quickly.
9. Remember, you do not need all level ground (just clear ground and the owner's rights) to build rides. As a matter of fact, when I start a monorail, I locate a part of groundthat is at least one walkway height clearance from the ground (if it doesn'texist, I use the shovel and raise it), that way it can cross walkways andjust about everything else, except tall objects. You can build themini railroad the same way, or even simple rides if they're too close tobuild an adequate Que line or find that the Entrance or Exit can't be putin and connected (requires 2 spaces on flat ground)
10. Remember, also, that you cantake a pre-fab ride and modify it, and that they cost a little extra, unlessyou make a lot of mistakes and have to back up a lot on the ones you create.Interesting things to do:
11. On Que lines. The better theride, the longer the Que line should be. Try to put Que line entrance ona busy thoroughfare or at the exit of another ride. Use switch-back forQue lines in limited space. Build above ground (at least one walkway clearance)to work your way out of tight spaces, using the raised arrow (above ground)walkway button (bottom right). You have to point to the next square youwish to build in, so if you're going from Entrance or Exit of above groundor even underground walkway, click on the right raise/lower button andclick on the direction of the incline, and then click add this. Be careful, cause if you're not looking, you could click on demolish instead of addingor adding instead of demolish, either way, you lose money. If clearanceis available, walkways and cues can be build right through existing supports, which increases the excitement of the rides and is good for free advertising, plus it's great for saving room. If time and money allow, cover your walkwayswith lights, walls or fences and trash cans, and replace often after vandalism. This is great for increasing Park Value or Rating.
12. More on Que lines. Try to thinkin 3 dimensions when building walkways, You can only connect flat to flat, you cannot connect on to an existing road that's at an angle to your Entranceand Exit Ques. Keep the exit lines as simple as possible so that your Handymenand Mechanics can find them without getting lost; Mechanics fix rides andHandymen clean vomit and litter from the exit lines. And remember, alwaysbuild your entrance 1st all the way to the main thoroughfare trail, ifpossible. If you don't, the main Entrance Que will attempt to connect tothe very first exit path it touches on flat land, thus prematurely shorteningit. You can build up or down to avoid this, alternatively, or build theEntrance Que first and use the raised land to build the Exit walkways sideby side with Entrance Ques with no problems.
1.A key to a good ride is high excitement, low nausea.
2.Tunnels can raise you numbers alot or sometimes only very little. duh! Trick here, save before, note resultsbefore and after. The positive effect may be negated by the time and costconsumed to add underground walkway (not to mention your eyesight). Deleteold walkways, and hook the stranded people and put them back on the straightand narrow path (the active one). If you do it over water, pause quicklyif people fall through, and rescue them. Lost people is lost revenue (unlessthey're angry and are leaving anyway).
3.Cheatsare hints too. Don't go there if you don't want to cheat.
