...As you may have noticed, we've always had mixed feelings ourselves about the Carter/de Camp part of the Conan canon. Some of the stories struck us as being well-writen, some not - but then we're not wild about every word that either Robert E. Howard or Roy Thomas ever wrote, either! Still, because these tales have become a more-or-less intergal part of the Conan saga, we've always wanted to adapt them if we could.

As reported last issue, thoufgh, the issue is now purely academic. It doesn't look as if there'll be any adaptations at all by de Camp; and since Carter did no other Conan stories on his own (or with an incomplete Howard original), that ends that!
