Richard L. Gardner, 70, of Dover died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003 at his home in Dover.
The son of Edward and Dorothy (Brecht) Gardner, he was born Aug. 11, 1933 in Cottonwood Falls, Kan.
He married Toshiko A. (Onda), on Feb. 19, 1958. He attended Arkansas Tech University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Sciences.He was a retired United States Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam Conflict. He was an Electronics Technician and worked on radar and the Hounddog missle. His speciality was in the PME Laboratory.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Edward Gardner and Phillip Leroy Gardner and one sister, Wilma Sprague.
He is survived by his wife Toshiko Gardner of Dover; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Edward Gardner of Josephine, Texas, and Tom and Mary Gardner of Dover; 10 grandchildren; one brother, Dudley Gardner of Albuquerque, NM.
Graveside funeral services with military honors were Saturday, at McFadden Cemetery. Burial was at McFadden Cemetery at Dover by Humphrey Funeral Service.
