Langford's Rowdy was an Old Time
Mountain Feist. Ricky Langford brought him home from
the North ARkansas logging woods in his lunch box. He has sired Allar's Fred, Jerry Bennet's Dale, Blihovde's Mountain View Pepper, Nogo Nell who are Squirrel Champions. He may have sired other Champions that I do not know about. He is Galla Creek Bell's grandfather. He was great squirrel dog and always wanted to out hunt whatever dog he
was with, but Rowdy's greatest asset was his ability to throw his good squirrel hunting genes to his offspring. Rowdy was born in Van Buren County, AR. His mother was a little solid red Feist owned by Sandy Watson. Sandy was a logger and worked with Ricky Langford of Moreland, AR. Ricky is married to my cousin (daughter of the late Dyke Collins). Sandy brought Rowdy to the logging woods and gave him to Ricky Langford. Dyke Collins trained Rowdy for Ricky. Old Rowdy passed away July 3, 2007. He lived a full and exciting life, a full 17 years. We tried to never kennel him in his last years. He got all he wanted to eat and was always 'king of Galla Creek'. We will treasure the memories he left for us! |
