Galla Creek Kennel Picture Gallery | Old Langford's Rowdy
Champion of Our Hearts!! | |
|
Langford's Rowdy was born about 1990; his actual birthdate is unknown. He was raised by Sandy Watson, who lives in Van Buren County. His mother was a red registered Feist, Sandy called her Little Red. Coyotes killed Little Red when she was about 10 years old. She never stopped hunting. Rowdy's sire was a dog owned my Johnny Hamm of Searcy County, AR. Rick Langford was working in the logging woods with Sandy. Sandy brought Rowdy to work and Rick carried Rowdy home to Moreland in his lunch pail. We bought Rowdy in 2001 from Rick. Rick is married our cousin. This picture was taken in the summer of 2003. Rowdy still will hunt and stand treed. If we put him in a kennel, he will not eat and grows very thin, so he is allowed to run free on Galla Creek. He is a better pup trainer than most momma dogs. Pups can crawl all over him and he will just lay there. One thing he protects is his food. So we just put out plenty. Rowdy is a typical Old-Time Mountain Feist--his heart is as big as the Ozark Mountains where his ancestors bones have turned to dust!! Rowdy has sired three Champions that we know of (he may be the sire to more). They are: Allar's Fred, Bennet's Dale, and Bruce Blihovde's Pepper! |
