Lucinda Powell Census Records

Daughter of Henry Powell & Matilda Hilton || Census Records Relating to Family

Information from John Wood, a descendant, via internet,  jaw1964@cyberusa.com Macon MO; says information source is a Great Uncle.  Matilda Hilton Powell is said to have died of milk fever. According to the obituary Lucinda was born in Scotland County, MO, and was raised in Schuyler County. "When she was 18 years old she joined the Christian Church. In 1875 she moved to this county and settled near Avilla." Four children survived. Mrs. Malinda Gailey, of Joplin, Mrs. Annine Cahoon, Harry Spry, and Lewis Spry. She died at the home of one Mrs. H.L. Bailey, one of her grand-daughters.
