Sept 1767, North Carolina Land Records, pg. 25-26, Charles Hart and wf Klera of Meck, to Mathias Beaver, for 200 pounds… (later says Mathias Barringer)…250 Acres on both sides Dutch Buffelow Creek, grant made by Gov. of SC, 13 Aug 1762, and since by the extention of the line hath fallen into NC, enrolled at Auditors office at Wilmington 28 Aug 1767…Charles Hart (Seal), Kelra Hart (K) (Seal_, Wit: John Phifer, Caleb Phifer, Andrew Sits ? (Stiles?). Provedn Jan term 1768.
[Grant to Charles Hart, SC Colonial Grants, Vol. 10, jp.g 298, dated 30 Aug 1762; Pat in Volume 7, p. 258, dated 30 Sept 1756, on Dutch Buffalo, a branch of Rockery River…vacant on all sides…Jno. Carmichael, Dep. Sur. SC Council Journal, Vol 25 pg 350, dated 7 Sept 1756, lists Charles Hart as applying for 250 acres on family right, indicating that there would be he and three others in the family. His name appears again on the same list for 200 acres. This may be an error, however.]
