Bell follows Squirrel over Cliff

September 28, Frank Branch and I went squirrel hunting north of Scottsville, Ar. on Adam's Mountain. He took his dog, Lady, and I took Quinnie and Galla Creek Bell.

The road winds around with a short bench south of the road. Bell and Lady treed several times on this short bench. You can see where the line of trees is in this picture. There is a 25 to 30 foot drop off.

Our dogs treed on this bench. Frank shot the squirrel as it crossed out Bell instinctly followed where the squirrel moved to. There was a crevice running into the bench. She plunged into the crevice and down the bluff about 30 feet.

This shows how far she fell. Frank worked his way around the bench until he could get to her. All that moved was her tail. She was in shock until 4 A.M. the next morning. Slowly, she has recovered. No broken bones.
