Plastic Barrel Dog House

Galla Creek Spook in Plastic Barrel House
I have used several different type of houses. I think wooden ones are the warmest, but they have several draw backs. This is the house I am using with my kenneled dogs. You can wash it out. It is not expensive. The barrels cost $8.00 each. They originally came from Conn Agri and contained food stuff. I would not want a barrel that had contained chemicals. I built the wooden cradle to sit them on and then they are connected with sheet rock screws. You can remove the screws and scrub the barrels. The dogs really like them. I drill a drain hole in the bottom so any moisture that gets in will drain out.

Back of my kennel is on a wooden deck. Front is concrete.

This shows the wooden cradle.

Poor Man has Poor ways!!

I guess if you have lots of money there is a better house. But a poor man has poor ways. I have to try to be creative and this is what I came up with. You can see the dogs chew on the door some. I do not have any type of flap on my houses. I know they chew them up. I have had them on other houses and they get messed up fast. I hope this helps someone with their kennel houses.
