On the 3rd Sunday of each month, the Luther Owens Charcoal Burners Club meets at the range to shoot and to show off their antique muzzle loaders. The public is welcome. There are two Muzzle Loading Competitions held at Luther Owens Range each year. In May, the Arkansas Muzzle Loaders hold the Arkansas Muzzle Loaders State Championship. This is usually the 3rd weekend of the month. In September the Luther Owens Charcoal Burners holds the Saunders Memorial Match. This is usually the last weekend of September. The weekends of the shoots have much more to offer than just shooting guns! There are vendors selling their wares, camping and relaxing by the campfire and enjoying the company of old and new friends. There are showers and restroom facilities and electricity is available.
