Graveside services and burial for Amma Eudean Garland, 78, of Anaheim,
Calif., who died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, in Anaheim, Calif., were at
2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, at Oakland Cemetery in Clarksville with Rev.
Steve Wingo officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of
Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
She was a daughter of the late Roy and Minnie Ross Foshee and widow of
Roy Baxter Garland.
Amber Dawn Decoteau, 22, and her sister, Jessica Renee Cantrell, 19,
both of Red Star, sisters of Derek Cantrell of Salus, died Wednesday,
Oct. 15, 2003, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident near
Fallsville.
Both are natives of Harrison but had lived most of their lives in this
area. Decoteau attended the Assembly of God Church and Cantrell
attended the Full Gospel Church.
Decoteau is survived by two children, Mikiah Decoteau and Damianna
Eckland, both of Red Star; father James Stanford of Compton; stepfather
and mother, Terry and Barbara Renee Cross Tilley of Dover; one half
sister, Bridgette Stanford of Compton, and three other brothers, Travis
Cantrell of Harrison, Jerry Don Cantrell Jr. of Ohio, and Colton Don
Cantrell of St. Paul.
Cantrell is survived by her father, Jerry Don Cantrell of Ohio;
stepfather and mother, Terry and Barbara Renee Cross Tilley of Dover;
and three other brothers, Travis Cantrell of Harrison, Jerry Don
Cantrell Jr. of Ohio, and Colton Don Cantrell of St. Paul.
A double funeral was held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, at Coffman Funeral
Home in Harrison with Rev. Gerry Bryant officiating. Burial was in
Plumlee Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Kevin Tilley, Steve Parker, JoeJoe Case, Jared
Pelfry, George Davidson, Eugene Case, Cecil Case, Justin Pelfry, Rex
Davidson, Joe Case, Larry Case, and Colby Bolen.
Juanita D. Beaupre, 83, of Nowata, Okla., died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003,
in Bartlesville, Okla.
She was a former resident of Clarksville and widow of William M.
Beaupre.
Survivors include one daughter, Jeanette Beaupre of Nowata, Okla.; and
two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Debbie Beaupre of Clarksville
and Bill and Stella Beaupre of Los Angeles, Calif.
The body was cremated.
John David Smith, 68, of Hartman died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, at UAMS
in Little Rock.
He was retired, son of the late Newton Jesse and Virgie Othel Nuckols
Smith, and was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Kimbrel; two
brothers, McKinley Smith and Hurshel Smith; and one granddaughter,
Deanna Plank.
Survivors include his widow, Mary Louise Tumbleson Smith; four
daughters, Donna Faye Plank of Washington, Texas, Deborah Kaye
Patterson of Clarksville, Diana Lynn Rainey of Knoxville, and Anna
Louise Holman of Lamar; two sons, David Lee Smith of Clarksville and
Danny Ray Smith of Paris; three sisters, Martha Ellen Woods of
Springdale, Lillie Mae Dukes of Dyer, and Brenda Sue Barners of Rogers;
two brothers, Newt Junior Smith of Clarksville and Richard Leon Smith
of Lamar; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev.
Travis George and Rev. John Price officiating. Burial was in Minnow
Creek Cemetery.
Leroy A. Lukins, 59, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, from
injuries sustained in a mobile home fire.
He was a native of Sacramento, Calif., son of the late Bert and Ethel
Anderson Lukins, Vietnam Army veteran, diesel mechanic, and preceded in
death by one son; two sisters; and three brothers.
Survivors include one daughter and fiance, Glenda Lukins and Jason
Williams of Clarksville; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Leroy and
Karla Lukins of Paris and Cecil Lukins of Atkins; three sisters, Bonnie
Waddell of Van Buren, Rosie Blaker of Clarksville and Myrtle Kitching
of Lavaca; and four grandchildren.
Leo Stover, 70, of Denning, brother of Martha Tillery and Francis
Tollison of Hartman, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003, at his home.
He was a native of Denning, son of the late John Henry and Glen Smith
Stover, former member of the Denning City Council, retired master
sergeant in the United States Air Force, Vietnam veteran, member of
Coal Hill VFW Post No. 8532, Pentecostal, and a brother of the Knights
of the Blue Nose.
Survivors include his widow, Quita Lois McCartney Stover; one daughter,
Rose Rinke of Ozark; two sons, Daniel and Anthony Stover, both of
Ozark; three other sisters, Lorene McClain, Juanita Walker and Nancy
Smith, all of Ozark; two brothers, Sam and Gary Stover, both of
Denning; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at the
Houston Cemetery with Rev. J. W. McEntyre officiating.
Active pallbearers were Robert Rofkahr, Travis Gentry, Calvin and Scott
Stover, Lee McCartney and Bryan Rinke.
Lucy Lorene Webb, 96, of Little Rock died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003.
A native of Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel
Carter and Flora Paine Wilson Sharyer, widow of Brigadier General John
B. Webb, and graduated in 1927 from Henderson-Brown College (now
Henderson University) at Arkadelphia where she served as secretary of
the student body, president of the Upsilon Phi and was the winner of
the W. E. Barham Speech Medal in her freshman year.
She taught kindergarten and speech at various schools around Arkansas,
was past president of the Pulaski County Pioneers Association and state
president of the Pioneers Association, member of the Capt. Basil
Gaither Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and General
T. J. Churchill Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and
was preceded in death by one son, Brigadier General John B. Webb Jr.
Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Barbara Webb of Little Rock; one
grandson and spouse, Mr. and Mrs. John B. (Linda) Webb III of Roland;
and two great-grandchildren, Scott Webb of Memphis, Tenn., and
Elizabeth Webb of Carrboro, N. C.
A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at Oakland
Cemetery in Clarksville with Rev. Steve Wingo officiating. Arrangements
were under the direction of Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth of Little
Rock.
Robert Bynum, 90, of Clarksville died Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, at Johnson
Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Clarksville, member of Stillwell Bible Baptist
Church, retired coal miner and trucker, and a member of Local Union
7869 United Mine Workers of America.
He is survived by two daughters, Hope Diffee of Maumelle and Sue Gill
of Van Buren; one stepson, Don Langston of Fort Smith; two sisters,
Leola Hilton and Anna Marie England, both of Clarksville; one brother,
Ralph Bynum of Clarksville; and two grandchildren, John Wesley Noble of
Maumelle and Amber Gill of Van Buren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, at Stillwell Bible Baptist
Church with Rev. Jim Goodman officiating.
Burial was in Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral
Home.
Ruby D. Roper, 92, of Scranton died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003, in Fort
Smith.
She was a member of Johnson Freewill Baptist Church of Dublin, daughter
of the late Press and Martha Taylor Denton, widow of Clyde Roper, and
was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and James
Koenigseder of Fort Smith and Betty and Junior Stovall of Scranton;
three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ottis and Velta Roper of Fort
Smith, Ronnie and Janice Roper of Charleston, and Darrell Roper of
Paris; grandchildren and spouses, Roy and Carla Roper, Janice and James
Rector, Larry and Sandy Roper, Randy and Teresa Roper, Tracy Roper,
Dana and Kevin Walker, Rita and Paul Athey, Tommy Stovall, Mark and
Cherie Koenigseder, Karen and Mike Pallone, and Nicholas and Rebecca

Sharon Kay Zollicoffer, 54, of Irving, Texas, died Friday, Oct. 17,
2003, in Irving, Texas.
She was a native of Clarksville and member of the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints Second Ward in Irving, Texas.
Survivors include her husband, Cecil Zollicoffer; three daughters, Gena
Zollicoffer, Marci Zollicoffer and Sarah Zollicoffer, all of Irving,
Texas; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael and Carol
Zollicoffer, Adam Zollicoffer and Leonard Zollicoffer, all of Irving,
Texas; mother, Marcella Self of Coal Hill; four sisters, Karon Sharp of
Hartman, Vickie Duncan of Camden, and Connie Gage and Linda Bowen, both
of Ozark; and six grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, at the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints in Clarksville.
Burial was in Nichols Chapel Cemetery at Altus under the direction of
Hardwicke Funeral Home.
William (Blackie) Blackman, 82, of Clarksville died Sunday, Oct. 19,
2003, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Vernon, Texas, son of the late Larry Bennett and
Lennie Yokum Blackman, member and deacon of First Baptist Church,
retired policeman, Army veteran of World War II, and former resident of
Greenville, Miss.
Survivors include his widow, Wanda Vinson Blackman; two sons and
daughters-in-law, Bill and Raye Blackman of Hernando, Miss., and Bruce
and Peggy Blackman of Roswell, Ga.; three sisters; six brothers; two
grandchildren and spouse, Michael and Angela Blackman of Cummins, Ga.,
and Sarah Blackman of Roswell, Ga.; and three great-grandsons, Aubrey,
Avery and Austin Blackman, all of Cummins, Ga.
Burial was at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, at the Price Cemetery at
London. A memorial service was held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, at the
First Baptist Church in Clarksville with Dr. Robert Brown officiating.
