Billye M. Ligon, 71, of Clarksville died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at
her home.
She was a native of Oklahoma City, Okla., daughter of the late William
Hugh and Helen Marie Burn, widow of Robert John Ligon, member of Grace
Lutheran Church, and former employee of McKession Drug Wholesale Company.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Gloria Bell
of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two nieces,
Donna Renee Eblen of Clarksville and Debbie Truitt and husband, Jim, of
Houston, Texas; and one great-niece.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 28, at Grace Lutheran Church with burial in Mount Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Judy Ann Lingar, 49, of Clarksville died Wednesday, March 19, 2003,
at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a Baptist and daughter of the late Thomas Paul Williams.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne Lingar; four sons, Chadwick Lynn
Lingar, Brian Don Woodard, and Todd A. Lingar, all of Clarksville, and
Gregory W. Lingar of Peyton, Colo.; mother, Argie Faye Sexton Williams
of Clarksville; two sisters, Paula Pitts of North Carolina and Pat Lingar
of Little Rock; two brothers, Eddie Williams of Hartman and Jerry Williams
of Clarksville; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at Roller-Cox Chapel with
Rev. Vernon Bass officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Eric Teague, Garrett Lingar, Tony Williams, Bret Lingar, Jody Dalton, and Josh Williams.
John Henry White Jr., 91, of London died Wednesday, March 19, 2003,
at his home.
A son of the late John Henry and Mary Ella Pless White, he was a native
of Russellville, member of Mount Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church
and was retired from the timber and poultry business. He was preceded in
death by one son, Kenneth E. White; two sons-in-law, Erwin Rietzke and
Bernard Bice; five brothers; and six sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Mary Agnes Vinson White; three
daughters and one son-in-law, Geniece Rietzke of London, Jean and James
Freeman of Fort Smith, and Mary Bice of Clarksville; two sons and and three
daughters-in-law, John R. and Dixie White of Silt, Colo., Marvin and Maxine
White of London, and Wanda E. White of Clarksville; 18 grandchildren; 40
great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at Shinn Funeral Chapel with
Rev. Mike Galloway and Carlton Bowden officiating. Burial was in Mount
Carmel Cemetery near London.
Active pallbearers were grandsons, Jimmy Rietzke, Kevin Freeman, Mike
Howell, Allen White, Randy Howell and Jeff Freeman.
Honorary pallbearers were Martin Priebe, John Henry Miller, Dean Castleberry,
Elbert Rye, Percy Boster, and Otis Herzfeld.
Memorial may be made to the Mount Carmel Cemetery Fund.
Norma Kilcrease Johnson, 92, of Clarksville died Monday, March 24, 2003,
at St. Vincent Medical Center.
She was a native of Clarksville, daughter of Samuel and Mary Annette
Cranford Kilcrease and widow of Harry M. Johnson.
She is survived by two sons, Don H. Johnson of Clarksville and Alan
M. Johnson of Little Rock; four grandchildren, Donald Craig Johnson of
Jacksonville, Fla., Alnita Carroll of Ruston, La., Stacie Holloway of Little
Rock, and Emily Johnson of Tampere, Finland; and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, at Oakland Cemetery with Burley King officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Phyllis M. Collins, 81, of Clarksville died Monday, March 24, 2003,
in Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Waldenburg, daughter of the late Roy Elton and Laura
Frances Skinner Frank, widow of Roy M. Collins, and member of First Baptist
Church.
She is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Amanda Kilcrease
and Lynda Hickenbottom, both of Clarksville, and Patricia and Arlon Horn
of Harrisonville; one sister, Claudine Reiman of Waldenburg; one brother,
Bob Frank of Phoenix, Ariz.; six grandchildren, Michelle Puridon and Michael
Hickenbottom, both of Clarksville, Ashlee Nichols of Oklahoma, John Horn
and Christie Horn, both of Kansas, and Joanna Keeble of Missouri; 14 great-grandchildren;
and one great-great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 27, at Hardwicke
Funeral Chapel.
The body was cremated.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, at Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Rowland Clark, 74, of Dover died Sunday, March 23, 2003, at AMI St.
Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
He was a native of Lamar, son of the late Brooks and Dovie Matthews
Clark, employee of the U. S. Forestry Service for 27 years, attended the
Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church and was preceded in death by his first
wife, Ruth Clark; and one sister, Rosezetta Jones.
Survivors include his widow, Helen Clark; one stepdaughter and spouse,
Connie and Gene Fillion of Dover; three stepsons, Allen Standridge and
Kevin Standridge, both of Dover, and Carl Standridge and wife, Marilyn,
of Russellville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, at the Gospel Lighthouse
Pentecostal Church with Rev. Bob Freeman officiating.
Burial will be in Annie's Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Humphrey
Funeral Service of Russellville.

Robert Eugene McDougal, 68, of Clarksville died Sunday, March 9, 2003,
at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a farmer, son of the late Wesley McDougal, and was preceded in
death by his wife, Eva C. McDougal; one sister, Elizabeth McDougal; and
one brother, Frank McDougal.
Survivors include one daughter, Kay Smith of Mill Springs, Mo.; two
sons, Garry McDougal of San Francisco, Calif., and Ron McDougal of El Paso,
Texas; mother, Lillie McDougal of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; one sister, Ruby
Gower of Spicewood, Texas; two brothers, Dean McDougal of Arlyrd, Mo.,
and Wesley McDougal of Attica, Ind.; and companion, Thelma Clark of Clarksville.
The body was cremated.

Toni B. King, 70, of Clarksville died Sunday, March 23, 2003, at Baptist
Health Medical Center in Little Rock.
She was a daughter of the late James and Johnnie Ramsey Coburn, member
and Sunday school teacher of Cherry Street Baptist Church, and was preceded
in death by one daughter, Linda.
Survivors include her husband, Mel King; one son, Timothy King of Cass
City, Mich.; two sisters, Ruby Allen and Mary Owen, both of Houston, Texas;
four grandchildren, David King, Jennifer King, Nicholas King and Timothy
King; and three great-grandchildren.

Charles William (Bill) Garland, 63, of Clarksville died Monday, March
24, 2003, at his home.
He was a son of the late John and Easter Wilburn Garland, retired Clarksville
Light and Water Company employee, former supervisor of Singer Company,
and member of the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church for 42 years where
he was also an usher and Sunday school teacher for 35 years. He was preceded
in death by two sisters, Juanita King Southard and Tessie Evelyn Williams.
Survivors include his widow, Linda Sue Walker Garland; two daughters
and sons-in-law, Shelly and Mike Bean and Terri and Greg Clinebell, all
of Clarksville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lillie Mae Dixon, Willive
and Walter Nowotny, and Ancil Williams, all of Clarksville; one brother,
Bob Garland of Burleson, Texas; four grandchildren, Alex Bryant, Dillon
Bean, Nick Bean, and Amanda Clinebell, all of Clarksville; and numerous
nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 27, at the Landmark Missionary
Baptist Church with Rev. Vernon Bass and Rev. Gary Blair officiating.

Walter L. Looper, 69, of Clarksville died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at
his home.
He was born at Ludwig, son of the late Samuel Harris and Inez Irene
Shelton Looper, Methodist, attended Clarksville Schools, cattleman, member
of the Arkansas Cattlemen's Association and the Texas County Feeders Association,
Army veteran, an AAU and Golden Gloves Boxing Champion and was Johnson
County Sheriff from 1967-72.
Survivors are his widow, Cecelia Rinke Looper; three sons and two daughters-in-law,
Terry and Jennifer Looper of Van Buren, and Christopher and Keri Looper
and Gary Looper, all of Clarksville; one brother, Jack Looper of Memphis,
Tenn.; and seven grandchildren, Cameron Looper, Collin Looper, Amber Looper,
Tyler Looper and Ashlyn Looper, all of Clarksville, Alison Looper Lloyd
of Arlington, Texas, and Nicholas Looper of Van Buren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, March 21, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel
with Sheriff Wes Kendrick, Billy Lloyd, and Sister Carol Ann Corley officiating.
Burial was in the Shady Grove Cemetery.
