Alma Leach, 92, of Pine Bluff died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, at Johnson
Regional Medical Center.
A native of the Piney Community, she was the widow of Earl Leach, and
was preceded in death by three sisters, Blanche Amorin, Eddith Syfert,
and Lois Hendrix; three brothers, Paul Parrish, Bill Parrish, and Everett
Parrish; and one nephew, Robert Syfert.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville with Rev. Vernon Bass officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Elizabeth M. Schmidt, 95, of Clarksville died Monday, Nov. 27, 2000,
at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Maryland, daughter of the late Bernard and Elizabeth
Mehlin Koppold, and a Presbyterian.
She is survived by one son, Sonny Madden Schmidt of Coal Hill; seven
daughters, Harriett Madden of Atkins, Patricia Madden, Dorothy Madden,
Victoria Freeman and Gloria Scott, all of Illinois, Kathryn Adamson of
Indiana, and Jennie Westfall of Wisconsin; 15 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren;
and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral and burial were in Fairfield, Calif.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Leroy H. (Dutch) Pearson, 85, of McCleary, Wash., died Sunday, Dec.
3, 2000, at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Wash.
A native of Lamar, he was a son of the late James Moses and Sarah Jane
Morris Pearson, former employee of Plywood Manufacturing Plant and Simpson
Door Company, and was preceded in death by his first wife, Cecillia (Sis)
Stockdale Pearson; four brothers, Virgil, Robert (Durard), Gordon, and
Beryl; and three sisters, Hazel, Louise and Ruth.
Survivors include his widow, Norma Jesse Pearson; one brother, Orville
of Lamar; and one sister, Betty James of Hagarville.
Graveside services and burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at McCleary
Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Whiteside Family Mortuary
in Elma, Wash.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Leonard Corbet (L. C.) Warren Sr., 87, of Laramie, Wyo., died Tuesday,
Nov. 28, 2000, at Ivinson Memorial Hospital.
He was a native of Mt. Levi and former Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC)
employee. During World War II he worked in military construction around
the Little Rock area (POW and Army camps) after which he was employed in
the family business as a sawmill wright and truck driver. In 1947 he moved
from Arkansas to Missouri where he worked for the Rural Electrification
Administration (REA) and was a sharecropper. When moving to Wyoming in
1957 he started as a lumberjack and sawmill wright (Medicine Bow National
Forest). Between 1960 and his retirement in 1985 he was a carpenter in
construction where his projects included I-80 bridges across Wyoming, several
power plants around the state, and Ivinson Memorial Hospital. He was a
member of Loyal of Moose and Carpenters Union and was preceded in death
by one son, Leonard Corbet Warren Jr.; and one sister, Esther Thacker.
Survivors include his widow, Euphenice Markle Warren; two sons and daughters-in-law,
Billy Richard and Donna Warren of Laramie, Wyo., and George Edward and
Leslie Warren of Oak View, Calif.; three daughters and two sons-in-law,
Sandra Kaye and Bill Bittner and Georgia Ann and Walter Tupper, all of
Laramie, Wyo., and Gayle Warren of Odgen, Utah; three brothers, Clyde Warren
of Marion, Ind., Herbert Warren of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Lloyd Ray Warren
of Quincy, Ill.; three sisters, Helen Wiley of Chillicothe, Ill., Rena
Andrews of New Madrid, Mo., and Myrtle Kremiuski of Farmington, Mo.; 14
grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral
Home with Pastor Steve Sorenson officiating. Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Buddy Tupper, Warren Dale Tupper, Corbet Lee
Warren, Greg Warren, Darren Warren, and Keith Tupper.
Honorary pallbearers were Bob Haskell, Tim Trabing, Tage Benson, Paul
Jackson, Shea Abbott, and Chuck Mundt.

Paul Wayne Taylor, 60, of Subiaco died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, in Little
Rock.
He was retired after having spent 20 years with the Arkansas National
Guard, U. S. Navy, Great Lakes Carbon Company in Ozark and bus driver for
Clarksville School System. He was a charter member and deacon of Subiaco
Worship Center, member of the American Legion, former member of the Scranton
Fire Department and was president of the Wares Chapel Cemetery Board at
the time of his death.
Survivors include his widow, Judy Taylor; one daughter and son-in-law,
Angela Gale and Mike Chambers of Van Buren; one son and daughter-in-law,
Dewayne E. and Amber Taylor of Wickes; mother, Elizabeth Walker Taylor
of Scranton; one sister, Betty Pruitt of Arlington, Texas; two brothers,
Joe Taylor of Fort Smith and Curtis Taylor of Scranton; and four grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at Subiaco Worship Center.
Burial will be at Wares Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Rol-
ler Funeral Home of Paris.
Pallbearers will be Joe Matt Freeman, Ricky White, Ray Gack, Robert
Lovelace, Michael Geels and Eddie Sims.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, at Roller Funeral Home at Paris.
