
Bernice Ann Dierene, 57, of Clarksville died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2000,
at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a daughter of the late Roy Weston Hilbish and Ester Hayes of
Amarillo, Texas, and affiliated with the United Pentecostal Church.
She is survived by four daughters, Teresa Robin Hayes and Brenda Lee
Blake, both of Clarksville, Patricia Ann Atkins of Conroe, Texas, and Linda
Lue Hayes of Sun Valley, Calif.; three sons, Ray Dierence and Arlis Jeffrey
Dierene, both of Amarillo, Texas, and Christopher Lyn Dierene of Clarksville;
four sisters, Bonnie Harderson of Clarksville, Connie Hayes of Amarillo,
Texas, and Velma Hilbish and Clara Hilbish, both of California; four brothers,
Walter Hilbish, Fred Hilbish, and Tommy Hilbish, all of Amarillo, Texas,
and Charley Hilbish of Washington, D. C.; ten grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren.
The body was cremated.
Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Diana Castillo Holland, 41, of Clarksville died Friday, Sept. 1, 2000,
at Southwest Hospital in Little Rock.
She was a daughter of the late Abelardo Castillo.
Survivors include her husband, Timothy J. Holland; one daughter, Faith
Stokes of Clarksville; two sons, Marcus Brown and Ryan Goines, both of
Clarksville; mother, Elisa Sorrells of Texas; one sister, Dora Mercado
of Red Oak, Texas; four brothers, Ed Castillo of Phoenix, Ariz., Steve
Rosas of Frisco, Texas, Abe Castillo of Farmers Branch, Texas, and Stace
Sorrells of San Antonio, Texas; and two grandchildren, Courtnie Stokes
and Raven Stokes, both of Clarksville.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev.
Dewayne Holland and Carl Wayne Holland officiating. Burial was in Mt. Vernon
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Steven Holland, Abe Castillo, Ryan Goines, Sean Guthrie,
Steve Rosas, Eric Castillo, Jim Wilburn, and Harrel Brown.
Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Hoyle L. Stapleton, 78, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000,
at his home.
A native of Bear Wallow, he was a son of the late Hugh Abner and Myrtle
Elizabeth Smith Stapleton, Navy veteran of World War II, member of Landmark
Missionary Baptist Church, the AARP, Senior Citizens, and Peace Officers
Association, and a San Pablo, Calif., retired policeman.
He is survived by one son, Jack Stapleton of Clarksville; one stepdaughter,
Tammy Stapleton; two brothers, Bill Stapleton of New Blaine and Jimmy Stapleton
of Arizona; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at Landmark
Missionary Baptist Church.
The body was cremated.
Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Lottie M. Baskin Bean, 81, of Clarksville died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000,
at Clarksville Convalescent Home.
She was a member of Stillwell Bible Baptist Church, widow of Heartsill
Bean, daughter of the late James and Lizzie Basham Baskin, and was preceded
in death by one daughter, Linda Pat Bean.
She is survived by one daughter, Faye Lewis of Clarksville; one son,
Bob Bean of Clarksville; one sister, Theda Cobb of Garland, Texas; three
brothers, James L. Baskin of Kansas City, Mo., and Paul D. Baskin and Robert
Eugene Baskin, both of Clarksville; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at Roller-Cox Chapel with
Rev. Steve Askins and Rev. Jim Goodman officiating. Burial will be in Harmony
Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Alan Pratt, Steve Bean, Jeff Maynard, Gary Dickerson,
Sean Pratt, and Billy Smardo.
Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Robert Berl Eaton, 59, of Lamar died Monday, Sept. 4, 2000, at St. Bernards
Regional Hospital.
He was a retired resales employee, son of the late J. T. and Flora Bell
Taylor Eaton, and was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Ann Watson.
He is survived by three brothers, Johnny Matthews of Harrisburg, Ricky
Matthews of Graneracy, La., and Billy Matthews of Knoxville, Tenn.
Graveside services and burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at
Holman Cemetery with Rev. Edna Burnett officiating. Arrangements are under
the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Steven H. Noble, 44, of Clarksville died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2000, at
Johnson Regional Medical Center.
A native of San Diego, Calif., he was an employee of Conagra Foods in
Russellville and a member of the Delaware First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his widow, Karen Courtney Noble; three daughters,
Jennifer Noble, Stephanie Noble, and Laura Noble, all of the home; one
son, Christopher Noble of the home; father, Deward Noble of Delaware; mother,
Jewell Hill of Delaware; grandfather, Roger Wurst of Delaware; grandmother,
Flora Drew of Buhl, Idaho; one sister, Rhonda Hall of Russellville; and
two brothers, Deward Noble III of Buhl, Idaho, and Carl Ray Noble of Coal
Hill.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 1, at the First Baptist Church
in Delaware with Rev. Wylie Jones officiating.
Burial was in the Garrison Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville.
Wanda Sue Young, 47, of Clarksville died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000, at
her home.
Survivors include her husband, Ray James Young; three daughters, Pamela
Auterson of Memphis, Tenn., and Melissa Young and Kimberly Young of the
home; parents, James and Laura McGuire of Knoxville; two sisters, Patsy
Ralls of Clarksville and Shirley White of Knoxville; six brothers, L. J.
McGuire of Wilson, Frank McGuire of Joiner, Don McGuire of Atlanta, Ga.,
Billy McGuire of Knoxville, and Jimmy McGuire and Kenneth McGuire, both
of Clarksville; and two grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, at Roller-Cox Chapel
with Rev. Amos Pledger and Rev. Vernon Bass officiating. Burial will be
in Liberty Hill Cemetery at Hunt.
Active pallbearers will be Loy Park, Barry Park, Raymond Young, Pete
Fain, Bob McGuire, and Jesse Campbell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lawrence Robinson and Wayne Vaught.
